During this gathering we honor Ntozake Shange and her first work and most acclaimed theater piece, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. We magnify the names of Bathsheba, Abigail, Ahinoam,Maacah, Haggith, Abital and Eglah from a womanist interpretation. They are the experiences of colored girls as the ladies in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown and purple.
