CLICK HERE: Racial Justice Film Series
In 2018, ArchCity Defenders held our first ever Racial Justice Film series (with KDHX) featuring three compelling documentaries: "Marvin Booker was Murdered," "Whose Streets?" and "Major!". Each of the films featured stories that connected with our clients' experiences and our mission of combatting state violence and the criminalization of poverty.
This summer, our series features films that touch on topics including intersectional identities within the civil rights movement, debtors' prison and the cash bail system, and the histories of two STL neighborhoods, Kinloch and Ferguson. Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion to continue the conversations sparked by each film. All screening events are free and open to the public.
