KDHX & Black Cinema Club presents . . .

"Can You Dig This" (2015)
Director: Delila Vallot
Executive Producer John Legend
Featuring Ron Finley

South Los Angeles. What comes to mind is gangs, drugs, liquor stores, abandoned buildings and vacant lots. The last thing that you would expect to find is a beautiful garden sprouting up through the concrete, coloring the urban landscape. As part of an urban gardening movement taking root in South LA, people are planting to transform their neighborhoods and are changing their own lives in the process. The film follows the lives of several of South LA's local residents as they share their stories of strength, perseverance and hope!

ABOUT BCC:

Black Cinema Club is a quarterly event held at the Stage at KDHX for those with an appreciation for film and black culture.

During each gathering, we show a film significant to the black experience: culturally, socially, and/or politically. After the screening, we host a open discussion that digs into the synopsis, themes, and subject matter of the film.
